Emergency contraception can prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or if the contraception you have used has failed. Emergency contraception can be prescribed directly at pharmacies and sexual health clinics.

You do not need to book a GP appointment to get emergency contraception. It can be quicker and easier to contact the local sexual health clinic or pharmacy directly.
